BRANDON BRADSHAW | MASTER FURNITURE MAKER
My name is Brandon Bradshaw. And the year? Well, it was 2015. You see, I was in my early 20’s, living at my mom and dads at the time and working construction. I had a man approach me out of the blue, and he asked me about my carpentry knowledge and if I would be willing to build him a solid white oak farmhouse table. Immaturely I accepted. I had only a basic set of tools, and very little knowledge in furniture construction. But what I did have was a passion for quality and expertise and everything having to be the very best it and be. Something that still holds true to me today.
So I did what most people do these days, and I turned to YouTube. I stumbled across one of the best furniture makers in the world. A man by the name of Paul Sellers. What intrigued me the most about Paul sellers, was his minimalist approach to woodworking tools, but yet the level of expertise he produced. I had not a lot of money at the time, and only a driveway and an hour or 2 of garage space each night. Coming across Sellers was a true blessing and an answer to my prayers. Why? Well he builds every peice of furniture using only 18th century technology. Hand planes, chisels, mallet, a couple hand saws and a spoke shave is all he needs to build the worlds finest furniture. Most of his are either original ones he’s collected throughout the years, or he has restored. So I started visiting antique shops and collecting old hand tools and learning to sharpen and restore them.
Little did I know, this one mans trust in me, and this this one dining room table, was going to be a huge turning point in my life. It opened my eyes for my love of fine furniture making. This humble beginning taught me patience, steady hands, how to pay attention to woodgrain. All the basic skills needed to be a true craftsman.
Before I even had the space, I spent about 2 years driving to various states and collecting vintage woodworking machinery and restoring them. Knowing one day, I will have the space and I will be able to live out my passion of building the very best furniture I can. Well here I am today. In my dream shop, building quality heirloom furniture.
Not only do I love the craft of making furniture, but I love sharing it with others as well. I put God in the center of everything I do, and that reflects in my morals, as well as the core values of my company. Quality Heirloom furniture, built last generations to come.
